Maryland area. Several inches (up to a foot) of snow on the way, as well as high winds. Anyone in the pathof the storm, be careful.

My mom and sister are down there ... here in NYC we're supposed to get more, I think.

I saw an article that said we will get between 3 and 30 inches. That's some mighty fine prediction right there!

It's only the difference between a bad commute and disaster prepping. Here in NYC the heat from the steam pipes and subway can avert disaster, but only so much.

Yeah I guess the only problem with snow in NYC is that they logistically have to ship the snow out of the city. They can't just plow the shit from the street onto the sidewalk. Public transit in the snow is a total nightmare though.

One good thing about living here is that other people shovel the sidewalks. I have yet to go downstairs after a big snowstorm and find the sidewalks unshoveled. The people who run our building are all over it.

liability is probably a huge issue if they didn't shovel! I remember living in Hoboken right across the water. Man did parking become tough after a snow storm!

Precisely. The price for some old lady slipping on your sidewalk and breaking a hip is high.

Hartford CT area is supposed to get 16-24 inches, and 30+ inches locally in the New England area. The panic seems low here...
